Original Homer Simpson Voice

I downloaded Homer Simpson's original Voice (in meters -not miles).
But (confusing forme) there is a meta code for the voice included and without activating it I can't use the voice.
I've activated maps ,o.k. , but never a voice and the tools I tried won't work for it - I think I'm doing something wrong...

Can anyone please tell me how to use the meta code to activate the vioce?

Copied the files into map folder ,activated with Easyusetools Frontend ,copied all back(incl. the new .dct) into the voices folder - working!!

Tried again with the files in voices folder only - working also ....

will this voice work with my navcore of: 8011?

It should work with no problem ,however you will need to use the easyusetools to activate the vioce.
On some devices this won't work and you have to change the filename from data63.*** to data110.*** and the same adjustment inside the *.vif file with notepad.
To activate no just copy the files into your voices folder and run the easyusetools -make sure you copied the meta for Homer into the meta.txt file in the easyusetools folder.
The frontend should work also!!

hey, thanks this is how i did it.
changed files like you said above but didn't go into any files just changed their names. placed 3 files in 'insert_meta_from_Map_here' folder, edited meta.txt accordingly and ran 'RunMeforDCT.cmd' selected: 1,1 and copied 4 files out into voices.

this voice activation thing, its unique to each install (device)?

It like the maps ,this voice needs activation because it is a "premium voice" .
You have to do that on each device you install it on.

i have the AVN 6000. It uses the Whereis maps.
I wonder, if any one has successfully made this homer voice work with the avn 6000? Love Homer!!

Well this voice is for Tomtom - if you run Tomtom on it you can use it

I'm not having a lot of luck. Any chance of you posting more detailed insturctions?

I copied the contents from the archive into the "insert meat from map here" copied the meta.txt to "prog" folder. Copied the unique id# to deviceid.txt. Ran RunMeforDCT.cmd. pressed 2, 1 and it's complaining about missing meta file?

can someone help i have downloaded all bunch of premium voices and it doesnt have meta files but i have meta xxxx for homer and i tried to use run dct bat file it abussing me for ".meta" which is not listed in download
i have only .chk, .vif and bmp files can someone help me how to activate this sh.....

Well ,I don't know where you downloaded the voices and if you need to activate them - you get quite a lot of voices that don't need to be activated.
For those that need activation you need the right meta code ,that is usually provided inside the archive or together with the download link.

Hello,
I've looked in google and here for a tutorial or instructions on how to use easyusetool frontend to validate premium voices on the iPhone's tomtom app but I can't seem to find a way.
Can someone please point me to the right direction?. I got the voice files in the map folder, then I know I need to run easyusetools to validate the voice, but I don't know how to do this, it's asking to choose a drive and the iPhone does not have a drive letter on the pc. How can I get this done?

You the device id for your phone!
Tipp : search the forum for speedcams and iPhone - I put the device id for all iPhones in there

I think I found that post, from what I'm reading I need to use EA instead of easyusetool to activate the homer voice?
I guess I need to place the voice files on the map folder, then back up the folder to my pc, run EA and choose the device ID then choose that back up folder in the pc instead of the iPhone one, then copy the folder from the pc to the phone. ?

With EA you can browse for the files you need - so it should work with the voice in the voices folder - if not try it in the map folder but you should make a backup first - just in case!
