Default Would it damage a Satellite IQ if plugged into cable?

If you plug a satellite Foxtel IQ box into a Foxtel Cable outlet, would it work in any way? Would it damage the Foxtel cable in any way?

I have a Foxtel outlet in my building, not sure if its cable or satellite. Someone suggested I borrow my parents Foxtel IQ while they're away for a couple of weeks - wouldn't want to damage anything.

i dont think you'd damage it, but a cable box will not work with a satellite service and vice versa.

ask the body corporate would be the best way to find out. or ring foxtel and give them the address, they will tell you without the trouble.

optus fox boxs (pace things) can be plugged in to cable or sat and they will auto retune apparently.

    fox ones can't

the tuner in the iq will be specific between the carrage methods
