Setting up a Proxy Server.

Hello,

I have already set up a proxy server however i cannot seem to get internet traffic routed through the proxy and then on to the Internet. Here's the configuration of the network ( > indicates destination)

PC ON LAN > Router > Proxy Server > Modem > Internet

I have it set up in that configuration, however the proxy is not used even though i have set all HTTP/HTTPS traffic to go through the proxy it just seems to bypass the proxy and go straight through to the Internet. The Proxy Server is Demilitarized by the way.

I'm using Squid for Windows (latest build) and SoftPerfect Bandwidth Manager to forward the incoming requests to the proxy.

What box is softperfect running on?

I have not used it, but a quick look at its website, it NEEDs to be installed on the "router"

eg:
PC -> Softperferct -> Proxy-> Internet

If not, what is telling the PC to go to Softperfect.

Dont forget you could just setup the PC to go to squid in the proxy settings. Then on the firewall add a rule that says block all outgoing not going squid.
