    Default gold cards

    Probably a stupid question.
Is a gold card more likely to stop working because you leave the box turned on or turned off?

    Cheers Max.

    and another telling "off"

    Cheers Max.

I assumed the OP was intelligent enough to understand the difference between ON and OFF.

So interpreted the question as to whether the box should be ON or STANDBY.

Really depends on the box - apparently some WILL upgrade whilst in standby
    others wont.
You can only try and see(or NOT see, as most certainly will be the case)

Sorry, I thought with common sense you would understood the question.

I have one person telling me that if I leave the box turned off or unpluged
The card will stop working "never work again"

I have another person telling me that if I leave it on all the time when they do updates "or what ever it is they do" it will stop working.
    Pretty simple question really.

    Cheers Max.

If you turn the box off , the card cannot receive any keys sent to it which will result in the card not working.

If they do " updates " as you call them , you will get them regardless unless you plan on having the box permanently turned off and never used which would probably defeat the purpose of having it in the first place.

If the box is turned off you could miss a key change.
If you leave the box on and don't have a full set of valid keys a key update could kill it.

... either way if your keys are known publicly your card wont last long.

Edit: Beaten by Sanity ... I hate black keyboards.
