Default How to run two lan cards on the same network?

    Hey guy
Just wondering if it is possible to have two lan cards connected to the same network to help speed up data transfers. Eg at a lan party?

    Thanks

depends on the nics and the drivers available. The IBM's we were buying had dual nics that we setup as a nic team for load balancing etc.

    no. in a standard PC

Your best bet is a 1Gbps card.

Two cards = two ip addresses = two connections = harddrive slower as its doing two things at once !

Agree, 1Gps card is the simplest.
You can have 2 cards, but they need to be teamed and ACT as a single card.

If you have 2 cards with their own IP address on the same LAN, windows may not like it.
eg: When you computer starts up it will broadcast a packet "Hello My name Is ....." the other nic will see that and reply "That my name..... leave it alone." And you will get a name conflict.

On the same LAN the MUST be teamed.

    1Gps card + router/switch supports it as well ..
