    Default digital terrestial tv aerial

My Son has just moved to Castlemaine VIC.
What type of aerial will he need in that location for digital reception?

You need a wide band UHF antenna (band 4 and 5) to receive signal from Mt Alexander near bendigo. You would need the same to recieve from Lookout hill in ballarat. Something like these 2 antennas

and by the looks of this

the transmitter is nearly sitting on top of castelmaine. Have fun!! oh i almost forgot..make sure the antenna is installed with the elements horizontal like in the pics i provided. now have fun!!

    Dash,

The examples of antennas given by mobsta should work fine for Castlemaine.

I install in the area and the signals are very strong, sometimes too strong due to close proximity of the transmitters.

If your son gets a message displayed like no, or bad signal.... it's probably caused by overloading of the receiver.

In that case, an attenuator will also need to be fitted between the wall outlet & TV/tuner.

If he has problems... let me know
