Yes. Ditch AVG , its shit
AVG has probably had an update and has now decided that the patch is in fact a trojan because the original .exe file has been modified. Unless it allows you to advise it that the file is actually safe , I got no idea
Hi all
I installed the above TJ version a few months back, everything was going fine I even managed to get a patch from a kind member, that is until yesterday.......Since a scan yesterday AVG now recognises TJ as a trojan horse!!!
I'm completely at a loss to explain this, as I said I patched TJ a good month ago and everything was fine with AVG even MB, but since yesterdays scan with AVG its now recognising TJ as a trojan horse, AVG even singles out the rar file in my download folder.
any suggestions?

I used AVG up till about a year ago when after a database update it decided that comodo was a virus.
Ironically , when I had it installed on my daughters laptop it didnt think viruses were viruses
There must be a bit of that going around, I had a patch that has resided on my system for months and survived countless scans until tonight when Symantec decided it was a trojan. Methinks that as the software manufacturers discover patches they are submiting them to the AV manufacturers as trojans, sort of a "backdoor" deal.
ok many thanks to the replies, whenever avg (I was going to use capitals but avg is undeservig now) does a scan and picks up something it dosn' like there is a function to vault it, heal it and ignore, I will choose the ignore option only for this particular patch for now and see how that goes, once again thanks for the replies.
