I got the same virus but i have installed a bundle of software suits on my PC. A fresh would mean complete clean up. Virus has also disabled my backup option so what to do?
I don't want to reinstall every thing again as it requires a whole day. anybody who can suggest some better solution

I think it is not the solution to have a fresh install...as with fresh install you would certainly loss your installed programs...Try a latest version of Nortron Anti Virus.

I've just had the same problem. Problem solved by running Microsoft Fixit 50027 from their support site.
DVD and CD now working fine.

Install a fresh copy of windows and install symantic antivirus (Updated version), scan your computer before doing anything else. I hope your problem would be solved.

Don't mean to be rude copcop but Symantec, lmao, would rather have the virus than this pathetic, resource hogging, inadequate excuse for an antivirus.
