the plans on the internet to make a yagi antenna dont have the corner reflector like the hills and matchmaster does for vhf

what length do i make the each peice in the arrow

please draw lengths and spacing thanks for your time

needs to look like the following antennas

what size do you use for the elements and spacing and boom size on the v reflector

This will give you an insight into Yagi Antennae design.

There is far more to it than you seem to imagine. Many, many prototypes and trial and error to achieve a compromise for the various frequencies required.
Why don't you just save the angst and buy one. They know more about design than you could ever hope to achieve.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".........

I'll have to wait for the next time it blows down to measure it up. I'm too old to go shinnying up a 40 foot Gal pipe mast.

Why? For what purpose? Is there any specific reason you need an antenna like this or is it just for looks ?

Plus it's not that simple. You can't just go adding elements willy-nilly. Each antenna is engineered for a purpose.

You've been advised numerous times on the DTV forum.

Any info you get here won't be any different

The ARRL Antenna Handbook is another good reference..... but, you've been told that numerous times in the past too.

whats the difference between that rear swept corner reflector and a forward facing one, apart from looking like its going twice as fast?
I always thought the prime use of a rear reflector was to reduce any unwanted signals/interferrence comming from behind.

Talking Wrap your laughing gear around this.

Antennas, to quote a friend, are one of life's eternal mysteries. "All I'm totally certain of is that any antenna is better than no antenna and the antenna should preferably erected as high and be as long as is possible or desirable". Here we will discuss the very basics of antennas including the the amazing terminated tilted folded dipole antenna. Each type of antenna will eventually have its own page. www.electronics-tutorials.com

If you drive around maitland/rutherford and even raymond terrace you see these antennas in dual arrays mounted on very high masts facing southish, which transmitter do you think these people are getting, it cant be mt sugarloaf as all the didital on mt sugarloaf is UHF

Unless there are some translators around the Cessnock/Kurri area most likely they are facing Sugerloaf or are you sure they are facing south and not North as I saw antenna at Nelsons Bay which I guessed were for Taree as they were facing north.
I think since then they have a translator there.
People will try for anything and did back then.
Even where I am NBN 3 as well as WIN 4 from Wollongong were receivable.
    Rough at times but viewable.
Portland, west of Lithgow had some fairly big arrays to receive Newcastle because it was THERE and was at times a better reception than the one comming directly from Orange, no translator then.
