Default Quick question about 2 x dreamboxes and 1 LNB

    Hi All
Still very much a noob here, so would appreciate some advice.
    I currently have a DM7000 connected from a 65cm dish with a basic 11.3ghz LNB pointed at C1. I get about 85-90% signal strength.

I was hoping to setup a DM 500 for my kids in the rumpus room.
Can I use the output from the DM7000 where the f connecftor goes to run RG6 to the DM500 and still get good signal strength on both DM's
both runs would be around 20m.

Or would I need to use to a dual output LNB off the dish with RG6 going to each box.

    Thanks in advance.

You would be better with a dual output LNB as you will get the horizontal/vertical conflict ( both boxes will have to be on one polarity or another , example you cannot watch Fox8 on one and Imparja or Box Office on the other at the same time. All Aurora and all Fox Box office ( and probably some I havent thought of ) are on Vertical polarity.

For the price of a dual output LNB and a bit of RG6 and connectors , you would better off doing it properly in my opinion.

Thanks for that, exactly what I wanted to know. Would one of those Sharp branded ones on Ebay be Ok, they are about $50ish, and finally will my faithful 7 year old 65cm dish give it enough juice.

Your dish would be fine given that its working now. As for the lnb you would need to post a link to one of the lnbs your referring to. There are too many out there to say one way or the other. Ideally you would be looking for a 10700 dual output offset lnbf.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

That lnb would be suitable. They vary in price on ebay I have bought the same unit about 6 weeks ago for $35 with post (new).

The dual lnb is the way to go, saves time and money.

If this LNB in fact has the slide down cover it is an advantage to stop the ingress of water into your cable.
And sharp seem to be a good lnb

I picked up an Acer dual output LNB new for $30 plus $6 postage.Very reasonable I thought.

I was going to buy a Strong on Ebay, but the guy wanted $25 postage, seriously how could postge be that much on an LNB, even registered insured.
So many tossers on Ebay making money on shipping.
