Strong SRT 4658X problem

Hi all,

Got a few strong SRT 4658X's when the new "special" cards came out

And ive got a problem, with all of the boxes I get the prob that just now and then, usually once a day, the box just comes up with "scrambled channel" take the card out and put it back in or turn the box on & off a couple of times and it works fine again, till the next time.

Anyone have any ideas why this would happen ? my father who got one of the strong boxes got so sick of it that he bought an Arion box and has not had the prob after that, so its not the cards.

Its common too on the 4653x decoders'-embedded slot

I've changed cardreaders and played with firmware but they still do it.

I've ordered the new Wavecom, it has all the 4653x features and promises to update and run cool. No cam slot though.

could it be simply heat related? i know a 53x that does the same every now and then, take the card out it is almost melted its so hot, pop it back in 2 mins later and have pics again

or is it the same time every day, ie when it is updated which from memory when public files were running was 12.30pm eastern time.

No, just random times..

Seems to be a strong thing and not much I can do about it

It prob is a heat thing, cause if I leave the card slots door open it seems to last longer... might pull it apart and see if I can hook a little fan up or something, or maybe drill holes in the case around the card reader.

Do the resister mod to the card reader &

Load in frimware 1.04p or 1.05

You can also run a 40mmx40mm fan for extra cooling.

its firmware problem, try the original strong firmware it should fix it

its firmware problem, try the original strong firmware it should fix it

I was using the original firmware that came on it V1.06, just upgraded to the v1.07 that was on the strong site and it made no diff, I dont know anything about non-original firmware ?

where is ur card ??? slot or cam ???????

In the slot, I didnt buy a cheap ass box to have to buy an extra cam as well

Though were is the cheapest place to buy a cam ?
