I dont think adsl +2 will help you.
depending where you are you may get better results with say unwired, or naked dsl...imo

Looks like Telstra kept their promise and upgraded cable in Melb!

Telstra ADSL 1 at distance limit from nearest exchange.

Is there any way of improving this without paying through the nose for ADSL2+ (no cable in street)

Checked my plan. Seems I was paying $59.95/mth for 256/64 so I upgraded to $69.95/mth for 1500/256. heaps better and can now stream video without waiting for it to buffer. Worth the extra $10

TPG ADSL2+ for the same price you're paying for Telstra 1500/256 plan.

TPG Super Fast Heavy /150GB Plan $69.99 150GB included data 65GB peak 85GB off peak. btw TPG don't include uploads as download data. Makes good speed connections for CCTV remote viewing.

If you cant get ADSL2 for any reason , you can get 30 gig of 1500/256 with Internode for $49.95. Its pretty good value for a quality ISP.

I checked on the speed test attached
    Down 35.29 mbs
    Up 1.13 kbs
    Ping 16m/s
Then went to the whirlpool Bigpond speed test
    Down 7.38 mbs
    Up .989 kbs
    pause 80
The latter is the more accurate i thinks, top spped test comes out of Adelaide, the bottom Sydney, or are both correct?

I just got my adsl2 modem connected, went well for 10 min then dropped back to nothing. LOL

Called iprimus and told them that speed test showed a download of 3Mb/s and now its dropped off to 1Mb/s.

I was told its peak hour and to use another test that shows the result on a bar graph.

Told him results are still shit and ill try it for 24h before needing to call him back and get heavy with him, im miles away from my PAID speed.

    Not happy Jan.

    Here's 2 for Vista or Win7.

    Just installed,looks OK

Have been using for a while, not bad.

Dont rely on Bigpond to update your usage frequently.

I get better results going thru Melb than Perth. Also, whenever I go to a site it says I am in bendigo.. why is that?
