    Default Fax solution

I want to do away with our old fax machine. Nowadays we get 90% spam faxes, Waste of paper, toner and most relevant faxes don't need to be printed anyway.

I am looking for a simple fax box, modem with onboard storage, doesn't rely on a PC to be turned on all the time, is self powered, has network connection, give ability to view faxes on a PC, delate or save like emails.

    Any hardware suggestions ?

How about using one of the online fax services and get the faxes emailed to you instead? Could be an option depending on your situation.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Default Fax servers are not free

Fax servers are not free. They charge per page including the Spam’s. I am looking for a simple piece of hardware an external fax modem which is powered independently and can receive and store faxes.

Well short of having a pc on all the time, I have never heard of anything like what your after. That isnt to say that there isnt such a beast out there though. Good luck with your search.

will look like a mess, just buy a new fax which can receive faxes to memory and you can pick and choose which to delete/print or even send fax directly to pc and not print them...

I looked into one of these at one stage, but went the fax server instead.

but its inkjet so watch out for faxes that you do print.

There are probably similar, but this is the only one I can recall at the moment.

Does anyone have one for some user comments ?
