    Default Explorer.exe has generated error

Running WIN2000 SP-4 lately I am getting below Program Error.

"explorer.exe has generated error and will be closed by windows, you will need to restart the program"

The browser is staying, the desktop will boot.

This happens as soon as I connect to the net about every 30 seconds or so.

If I disable the net connection all is well. Firewall is up and is working OK.

I checked Task manager but nothing unusual is running

    Any Idea ?

Try another browser. Firefox? or what ever else you have.
If you get the same error, points to connection, rather than program.

Browser is off, no application is running. Error massage appear, screen goes all blue, CPU up to 100%, second later desktop is recovered. 30 seconds later error massage and so on...

As soon as network is disconnected all is good. Reconnect and error massage resume.

Had the same problem before, It was IE, only way I could solve it was to restore IE to an earlier version.

    1. Quit all running programs.
    2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
    4. In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Internet Explorer (Version x.x), and then click Change/Remove.
    5. Click Restore the earlier Windows configuration, and then click OK.
    6. Click Yes when you are prompted to remove Internet Explorer.
    7. Click Restart Windows to restart the computer.
