Default Networking FX C525A printer ...

    Hi Guys

I don't know whether this is the right forum for this question, but I figure someone will tell me pretty quick (or, even better, help me with my problem ...)

I have had a FujiXerox DocuPrint C525 A for a while now as a dedicated printer (usb) on a single machine on our home network, but due to children (finally) moving out I can now put it near my router and I'm trying to make it available as a network printer. Unhappily, its not cooperating and I'm hoping someone can help me get the settings right.

I'm running a D-Link G604T router and have connected the printer via an ethernet cable to one of the ports on the router. The router recognises the printer and allocates it an address on the network.

I have run the IP setting tool from FX that came with the printer and it finds the printer on the network and has done the 'set up', but I can't get my system to actually print to the printer in network mode.

Have I missed a step? Or, is there some quirk that I'm missing? Or, should I give up? Or, ask somewhere else ...?

    Hope someone can help!

    Cheers

    Default

Goto printers and select 'add new printer'
tell it local printer and tell it to create a new port.
    set it to tcp/ip.
type in the IP addy of the printer
have the printer drivers ready to install & off it should go
Reality is an invention of my imagination.

    Many thanks, Fernbay.

With a little tweeking on the printer settings I was able to get it going. I wasn't far off. Its amazing what one (seemingly unrelated) little setting can do to stuff up hours of trying.

    THANKS
