    LMedit is not working ?,

but GGEdit works on gold card ?

if you can read the details with GGEdit from the gold card,

You Can program the Silver card with the ausgold.hex,

then just type your details into Ausgold Card writer & write them to the Silver card,

mastera v will do what you want
ausgold (red car) is same as ggedit only works with ghost codes
you need to work out what is on the silver card to know what to program it with
or you reprogram silver card with ghostsilver and use the programs you have

    About LMEdit,

    LMEdit still not working ?

it should work no problems with ghost codes, (will not work with Ausgold)

is your programmer set to Phoenix (sometimes Smartmouse) 6.0MHZ

    settings correct ?

do yo have the following .ocx files installed, or in the same folder as the LMEdit program, (if you are using Windows 2000/XP)

    Comdlg32.ocx
    MSCOMCTL.OCX
    mscomm32.ocx
    RICHTX32.OCX
    tabctl32.ocx

    Good Luck

    Hi mickc,

Ausgold Card Writer (Red car) just writes the details to the card,

    It worked for me,

but Yeh, try the other one if having problems,

    Try this LMEdit,

your programmer set to Phoenix (or sometimes Smartmouse) & 6.0MHZ

but will only work with Ghost encoded wafers, (not Ausgold)

There are a couple of AusGold writer tools: (v1.00) and (red car).

There may be others too, but those are a couple I know of. For example is a second version of AusGold that also uses the v1.00 loader.

All three of the above are clean according to my antivirus checks.

Sometimes with VB or Delphi applications that use , if you have problems with database errors (or key load/save features not working etc) you may need to find and supply a default MDB database file for the application. ie sometimes they can't create the blank database themselves.

There are also a few such applications that only work if you have Access installed. That was because of a trick Microsoft used at one point to try and force each program user to buy Access (the free MDAC/ADO/DAO/Jet database runtime doesn't initialise unless the application provides a secret key or an equivalent key is present in the registry, put there during Access installation). The security was lame; a simple registry hack was enough to get around it. But mostly nowadays if you're using XP SP2 or later you don't need to worry about database DLLs. If you're using early systems like Win98 you might benefit from Jet database .

What is "Ausgold programmer(RED CAR) "
I know Ausgold was a program written by Charles for Silver Cards

i only have a mastera 4 at the moment waiting on another cas3 to arrive in the mail
So i am guessing Ausgold Red Car is not a Programmer / Card Writer

Someone may explain this better than I, & Correct me if I'm wrong,

    (this is just my experiences),

An Ausgold card is one that has the Pic programmed with the ausgold.hex,

Used only on Silver Cards as far as I know,

when it is being programmed it adds code protection to the Internal Eeprom by default,

you can usually use your normal Pic Programmer to program the ausgold.hex,

The Details are then written to the Card using a Card Writer,

Ausgold cards cannot be read using LMEdit, or GGEdit,

& from my experience because of the code protection I cannot read the HMK on the card once programmed
Ausgold cards seem quicker to start up than Ghost coded Cards & also produce a very good picture

P.S the above LMEdit that I uploaded, downloads without any problem for me, if it is causing problems would the mods please delete it, thanks

What you said is correct Osirus.
    • Designed for Silver - not gold or fun
    • First write code (hex) file to card using JDM, CAS or other device supporting PIC)
    • Then send keys to card using Card Writer application with a Phoenix interface
    • Keys can't be read back
    • Other Phoenix mode tools for key extraction (ggedit, lmedit, fmcard etc) won't work with AusGold
    • Resulting card performance is good
