    simple

1:set the ip and subnet to work on your system this can be done with ip search

    2: set port on unit

3: set to real com mode

some times with ip search you need to disable all firewalls so it can find the unit to edit the ip and subnet for it

the ip address and subnet must be the same as your network

    eg

    mine is

    192.168.1.xxx
    255.255.255.0

the xxx can be anything between 1 and 254 as long as it does not conflict with any other thing connected to your network , the subnet must be exactally the same.

also the gateway and primary dns can be found in your network settings for your lan.

that is all that needs to be done what is shown in the screen shot.

Is this the humax with the inbuilt BFXX and season ??

if so it has the correct firmware and is ready to go once you put in the ip and subnet etc.Make sure you also have a dummy card in the reader slot so as the activate the re-set switch

name = what ever you want to call it
host name is the ip of the unit
port is the port of the unit
also forward that port to the ip on your router

Before you can do anything with a BF430 you need to set the IP address to the same IP range as your PC etc.

The BF430 has a special program that scans ALL BFxx units in all subnets based on the MAC address manufacturers code, it's called Vircom (Vsport).

The program that does that is free from the importer's web site.

There are other documents there and certainly enough to allow you to completely stuff it if you are determined to do so....LOL

The Bf430 is a serious industrial control device that allows remote connection to any RS232 or Rs485 device as if it were right on your PC's com port.

For example by configuring it in TCP server mode instead of realcom, you could connect to a Jaycar phoenix reader 2000 klms away and run GWM at your place to revive a friends whitey that had failed under a crappy program like newcs or cccam server .

Now chew on that for a while.....

There was a huge thread on the old server about it all, but alas, all gone.

Does the dummy card need to be inserted correctly? (humax, card contacts up)

    Mal..

Is that a question? If so it should be followed by a question mark.

    ...can he be counted on?

Or is it a statement? From personal experience?

The way I read it is that it unequivocally says he/they can be counted on.

Only those with an axe to grind create negative metaphors in their mind.

    Poetic isn't it?
