Default New Go Channel from 9

Hopefully this hasn't been already mentioned but just saw a ad for a new channel
"Channel Nine will launch its new youth-driven channel Go! next month.

The new Freeview channel, to be offered on 99, will be available to viewers with a digital television or with a set-top box. It will be shown in standard definition (SD).

The Vampire Diaries is due to premiere on Go! (Credit: Nine )

Set to "soft-launch" on August 9th before a full launch in September, the channel will have broad entertainment titles, mostly from the US. Many of them are shows that have already aired on Nine, but it does include titles we have also seen ripped off air, along with some new content.

Nine Network CEO, David Gyngell, said: "Typical programs on Go! will be favourites such as Gossip Girl, The Hills, Fringe, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Weeds, The Wire, Survivor, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, CSI and hit comedy series Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

"And later this year Go! will broadcast the most anticipated new show of the US television season, The Vampire Diaries, which is about a high school girl torn between two rival vampire brothers."

As a broad entertainment channel it instantly feels like a cross between FOX8, Arena and TV1.

Nine will also offer themed nights including Reality on Tuesday, Sci Fi on Wednesday and a girl's night in on Thursdays."

Looks like a bit of competition for Foxtel

I think Gerald Stone wrote a book

"Who killed Channel Nine" or something like that

& it is reported that Kerry said, before he died "their going to stuff (or F**k) the joint, about his Son James & his Prime Adviser (can't think of his name)

Kerry Loved his Television & Channel Nine, & spent whatever money it took to make it the best,

James is into Casino's & thinks there is a bigger dollar there,

(James is so far not half the Businessman his father was)

    Time will tell....

Now, I think Channel nine should rename 9 to "2 and a 1/2"

The advertising must have kicked in after midnight but lets be thankfull that they have.
Someone posted what they thought was a line up of programs to come but the voice over sort of says "new programming' but experience with advertising promises can mean anything for New Episodes to ones not shown on THIS channel.
It doesnt say that I saw when this 'NEW Building' of WINHD will be finished so will it fire up on Sunday night along with ch 88 ?
Is it possible 9/Win/NBN heard shall we say less than complimentary remarks when ONEHD started in Metro areas only??

does WIN cover any of the Whyalla/Port Augusta/Pr Pirie areas?
I have friends there and I cant quite make out exactly what channels they can receive on Digital.
From what they have said, Whyalla only had a very limited service on Analog.
She said they had a new antenna (UHF) installed but it was facing a different direction to the old one.
Not knowing the area at all, I wasnt able to work out from the ACMA listing just what covers where.

Have you seen the program promo for Tuesdays ???
Dog The Bounty Hunter, Survivor, The Batchelor, The Batchelorette.
Oh Golly Gee Whiz and Hot diggity Darn !!!
And 4 episodes of just about anything atrocius back to back !!!
Now to see what happens with the 9/WIN/NBN HD channel.

Had a look at the programming for GO, and had a look fo 9HD also and noticed a lot of the stuff that was on 9HD has now moved to GO and 9HD is now showing a lot more of the same stuff as 9 SD. Even though there is still a lot of new/different program content on GO, I feel that we are being ripped off because some of it we already had and has just been shifted - probablymoved to an SD allocation to cater for more of the population. What is important here now is that 9HD's program content once again begins to vary from channel 9.

The FTA channels need to show some creativity with the Programming of their new channels,

Why don't the FTA channels develop an On-demand Channel,

& not let Foxtel lead the way in this area ?

I guess a STB needs to be developed for this, with a Hard Drive & maybe with a Ethernet port & Internet connection too

& I know FTA on Demand is a big ask, but if FTA is to survive they need to think outside the box, & not let Foxtel have all the cutting edge technology,

even a +2 hr channel would be good too (just like getting the WA channels in eastern states,)

The Go channel Programming sounds so far to be more of the same.

Apologies the guide i provided has changed and go will start at 6.30pm
as advertised but my guide will give a rough idea of a typical Sunday lineup
for 16th August onwards. Better buy the kids Macdonalds to make up for it.
