    Default adaptor?????

    Hello,

I am after a component to HDMI adaptor/cable.

I dont know if this is even possible. Are the signal and their levels compatable?

I know that you can do Component to VGA & VGA to DVI. I have seen DVI to HDMI adaptors and VGA to HDMI converters, which appear to be active devices. But, can you go directly from Component to HDMI in a single cable?

If so, where from. I have googled, followed those links but didnt notice anything that looked like what I need.

    Thanks for looking in.

you are wanting to send an analogue signal (component) over digital (HDMI). You need an AV receiver to upscale the signal for you then send the signal.

ie. DVD component into the Amp, send to screen via HDMI.

A good Denon or Yamaha AV receiver will do this.
