    Default CrossEPG (enigma2) with 7 day HD EPG

    Just a heads up to you all. I've been helping the author of CrossEPG adapt it to Australia. You can download it from

    If you have an Enigma2 box if you install it from the instructions it will give you a full 7 day EPG. Unlike the E2 loadepg that i posted here several months ago this version supports all HD channels.

    It's also a little easier to install and setup than E2_loadepg. Should work pretty much out of the box. Let me know.

    there's a working 7 day enigma1 epg plugin if you do a search for it. I don't have an enigma 1 box so i haven't used it myself.

    It's not really working. What we really need is a multiview type epg. The plugin can only show a single channel at a time, or let you search for a known string - not quite what you need when scanning to find something to fill in an evening.

    I think pli, sqlite, oztivo and the internet is the only method to get (close to) full epg on E1 boxes -
    Although I am the first to say we do want over the satellite epg load if someone can crack it for us.

    Sorry. I didn't realise it wasn't working for enigma. I don't really have the time or energy to look into it but i would think that it shouldn't be too tricky at all given the ease with which we've been able to get the enigma2 stuff working.

    Anyhow, for enigma2 folks, Cross EPG is a really elegant solution. I'm very impressed with it.

    I've had a brief look, but it appears that the main epg developments are all from the Italians, & I can't follow any of it even with the help of the various translation services. It looks like we need an Italian speaker to get it working for E1 boxes.

    Yep. They're all Italians. My Skynews Active plugin and my tweaks to e2_loadepg and crossepg are all based on Italian plugins. the best thing that has happened to us is that news corp bought Sky Italia and converted everything to the same systems we use. The Italians reverse engineered it all and i've been playing with their code.

    I've been using google translate but i've also been emailing a lot of the developers directly and most of them are very helpful and can handle themselves in English pretty well.

    We've been playing with Cross EPG and there's a version that works perfectly here on an AU Enigma2 box. It should be working fine in the current crosspeg download (although i am running the beta not the distro version). ANyone got it going?

    I dont' know what's in the current distro but try this:

    Download crossepg form

    Then install it as per the instructions. Then go into \usr\crossepg\providers\

    and replace the details in the skyuk.conf file with these:

    Code:
    # nid ,tsid, sid
    nid=4096
    tsid=17
    sid=17008
    namespace=102236160
    # channels pids
    channels_pids=17
    # titles pids
    titles_pids=48|49|50|51|52|53|54|55
    # summaries pids
    summaries_pids=64|65|66|67|68|69|70|71
    protocol=opentv
    and then run the skyuk version from the web interface.

    I think that should work - although make sure that you follow all the installation instructions correctly.

    p,

    G'day P,

    I gather that you're only interested in the 'off air' epg data and that crossepg has no support for combining radiotimes, oztivo and 'off air' epg (including assigning specific channels to specific epg arbitrarily) as I currently do with loadepg on my DM7025.

    Whilst this is my impression from reading forums, crossepg web site; I am not sure and thought that you might confirm this for me before I went to the trouble of disturbing my loadepg installation?

    regards

    Yep, for your needs loadepg is probably better. CrossEpg has two big advantages for others:

    1. It autoconfigures - you don't need to tell it which channels are which (although you can create aliases so that EPG data is duplicated). Much less mucking around with configs. Much easier for noobs.

    2. It does the HD channels - which quite a few people have complained that Loadepg does not do.

    However it doesn't read oztivo or any XMLTV files or anything like that.

    go on ajm - do a backup and give it a go
    if nothing else you can give us a comparison review between loadepg and crossepg
    If I had an enigma2 dream - I know I would

    In fact if anyone has a 7025 to give me ... I'll definitely give it a go
    (I'd love to add a 7025 to that list below)
