From what I've been reading looks like we might not have a choice but to add atleast $50 to have the 360's with the new 'revised' liteons modded as Foundmy.com and HyperX are not releasing any free solutions from now on ,hope I'm wrong regarding paying for the solutions but its all about making money these days isn't it, so in other words I be charging ppl with the new liteons $80 to mod ,$30 for my time only don't charge for software and say $50 aussie to Foundmy.com for their time few seconds worth

good on them for charging.

regardless you do charge... I couldnt blame them if this was the case either --> for it it them that do the hard work (and typically for sfa)

exactly. my point being it takes you 5 minutes to flash an xbox using a firmware you had nothing to do with.
So you're using their free/hard work and charging people for that honour. Perhaps they finally got fed up that so many people were making so much cash off of their hard work and decided to make a little back themselves.
How does one flash a xbox in 5 mins I normally allow around 30 mins to disassemble,apply the f/w,reassemble then test so how the f**k can it be done in 5 mins also dont forget the tools required to do the f/w ,computer,extractor tools ,ppl forget about that ffssame argument can be said why a mechanic charges so much ppl don't realise theres costs involved,tool purchases,taxes etc expect them to do it for nothing sheez

You are expecting the people who create the firmware and ways around it (the hacks) to do it all for free yet you charge for it, that's what I'm getting at. I'm sure these guys put in endless effort to get stuff up and running with very little thanks, it's about time (IMO) they got some money out of this. I guess the 42 dollars is to make as much money as possible fast.

If you would care to read my post I didn't say JF/THX team to create the f/w for nothing but for a reasonable fee like $5 maybe 10 but not $42usd, also they have been accepting donations for some time now

panel beating is far from cheap
the guys that write the software have put alot of time into doing it so i cant imagine it taken 5 secs to write .....
well because it only takes you 5 mins to flash a drive can i get a few done for $5 ?

lol the difference is volume say I do 6 a month if I'm lucky total $180, the software developers say charge $5 so sell about 10,000 plus a month so total$50,000plus well anyway i donated a few dollars for their effort today
modded one today successfully took me about 20 tries though bit harder than the previous liteons ,these guys are champions

Volume has nothing to do with it mate if your software is popular great if not you wont sell it .... the fact that you only do 6 a month means your either to expensive or you dont market yourself right

we (people) should appreciate their work abit more instead of having the it only takes 5 secs to do attitude
i think if your smart enough to make a program that people are all after you deserve the $ from it look at bill gates although i hate him for being the richest man in the world i adore the fact that he has made his $$ with software he and others created

One thing you didn't mention Shai was the risk we assume. If we kill the customer's unit, they have every right to expect restitution. The guarantee we offer is also a cost to us.
How many idiots have killed there own box and come bleating looking for help. If they had taken it to an expert instead of trying to save a few paltry bucks then all would have been good.
