The GO! promos have started and what initially looked like endless repeats of Bewitched and other 60's sitcoms seems it might now have a bit more to offer.
One can only presume that 7 will have to respond with vigour against the new 9 & 10 line-ups, ABC 2 & 3 (When it fires), hopefully an ABC news channel eventually.
There's been many a chanel surf that's seen me end up on one of the secondary chanels for an hour or two.
I am loving the cricket on SBS and hope they secure the rights for the next 20 years.
Take note Rupert and you Foxtel rip-off merchants. The FTAs are coming back to give you some serious curry and one suspects that many subscribers will find your $50 per month theft deal just not worth it any more.
Here's hoping for the ultimate.....
All the FTAs jump on board D3 along with Select and life would be almost complete. One dish dragging everything in.

The Early Bird May Get The Worm But Its The Second Mouse That Gets The Cheese!
God help anyone who gets sucked in by those telemarketing life insurance companies.
One day while waiting for a train and particularly bored I read one of their brochures cover-to-cover and was shocked at how tricky the fine print was! All sorts of common cases were excluded which the average buyer wouldn't realise, ergo people are tricked into "investing" thousands on an unsuitable product that doesn't offer what the buyer thinks it does. Years later the same companies are still at it, flogging their predatory products on TV with fear campaigns "how would your children survive", "if you loved them you'd buy this policy" etc. They particularly target housewives and the elderly with long relentless infomercials on daytime TV using the same psychological devices that con people into buying questionable weight loss or beauty products.
Those life insurance products aren't outright scams because there are real insurance services at their heart, but there's certainly a scam element in their design and marketing. ASIC have [15K PDF] in some cases for misleading advertising, but plenty of victims have no recourse in court because the policies themselves aren't illegal. So the problem's not just the advertising - the sale of life insurance needs to be better regulated.
Plenty of TV advertising is reasonable and informative but some of it is dangerous, the long ones especially. Most dangerous of all are the full-program ones stalking daytime and graveyard timeslots, and of course the shopping channels. I know several people who are paranoid about using their credit card to buy things online but who fell victim to TVSN and bought short-lived products of poor quality that they never would have considered if seen on a K-Mart shelf.
"The TV business is uglier than most things. It is normally perceived as
some kind of cruel and shallow money trench through the heart of the
journalism industry, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free
and good men die like dogs, for no good reason."
- Hunter S Thompson, Generation of Swine, 1988

Er.. I don't watch TV1 or its retarded cousin, 111 Hits.
Why would I watch these crap shows on Go99?
* Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by Alien, a Terminator, and the Predator.

In the States now you can get special doggie snuggy's..
* Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by Alien, a Terminator, and the Predator.
just goes to show some people will waste money on anything if they see it on the idiot box
I'm waiting for the 'Snugwow" in case I spill my drink while I'm wrapped up in front of the TV
Now I can tune into another channel "GO" (as anyone else can with access to FTA Digital) ....... and what have I discovered?
Well the "GO" promo loop informs me I am going to have access to another channel of old CRAP. And they call it progress.
Looks like almost all of the "GO" content is the same crap Foxtel have been recycling for years. Some programs were fine the first time round, but 1000 plus times is too many.
FTA analogue programs recycled to Foxtel digital ... to then be recycled to FTA digital.
The only new content appears to be the occasional new advert.
Makes one wonder what stunt they will the try next?
We've also discussed Channel 9's GO channel and .
