Default Help needed with display resolution in Windows 7

    Hi

I have set up a dual boot with Windows 7. The only problem i am having is getting the supported resolution of 1920x1080 to display. It comes up with "mode not supported" but the mode is def supported as i am running it in Win XP.

I have a Radeon HD4890 and have got the latest driver and Catalyst Control Centre 9.7 but just cant seem to get it to work.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I am using a Samsung HDTV.

    Thanks

I think it does detect it properly... Its detected as a plug and play monitor i think... What should it be detected as, and how can i change it to detect it differently?

if you right click on the desktop and select 'screen resolution', your monitor model number should appear in the 'display' tab.

plug and play monitor that is your problem....

you will need to find drivers for the monitor for it, and then have a go... i.e mine picks up asus w222 or something like that

Windows 7 detects HDTV as a Generic PNP monitor. I cant find any drivers on the net for a Samsung LA46A550 TV... If i plug a DVi-HDMi cable in i get 1920x1080 but its not totally full screen... I cant seem to find a way to fix that either...
