Default This any good for anything? old pci sat card (big pics).

    Hi,

Just dug through an old box of bits and pieces and came across this.

history was it was an old card used for sat internet (possibly 10+ yrs ago)

was wondering if anyone new anything about it (I have not yet googled) but wondering if it may be good for anything.

seems to have a cam interface. (newbie)

ps... excuse the pics... (not a photographer )

Never seen one but you could download a Mythbuntu 9.04 CD and chose live CD boot from the boot menu. Then see if the card is detected (dmeg |grep dvb -i)

If it does you could use it for a PVR that will rival anything else anyone is talking about on this forum.

Hi z1gg33. I've got one of those broadlogic cards works well with a program called Mytheatre and also works with Progdvb. That card slot doesn't work as a card reader.

If by these cards you mean dvb-s card to work with Mytheatre or ProgDVB then yes there easy to find. Usually not locally (in Aus) but easy to purchase overseas. As long as the card is supported under the OS are using it should be fine.
