There is no such thing as "equal" in this country.

Oh Thats the Truth Helen, one rule for them and one rule for the next minority group.
Tagg
Heres a handy tip you should watch out for 188 cm tall people in Burka's as they might go bang unexpectedly.
There should be a uniform rule for everyone , regardless of religion , in regards to entering a bank with your face covered.
Motorcycle helmets obscure less of the face than Burkas do , so its an obviously stupid decision to allow people wearing them in the bank with their faces covered.
While we are told we should respect the religions of all minorities , respect and security are two different matters which shouldnt be confused. If they are not allowed to be seen in public with their face uncovered , I have some suggestions.
Leave the country. Your religion and customs are too far in conflict with Australian law and basic security rules and standards for financial institutions and you should relocate to a country that has a high percentage of people of your religion.
They probably reguarly have explosions and robberies in banks , but thats something we are trying to avoid having here.
Get your husband to do the banking. Though he may have a beard that covers half his face , it is at least one half of the face we can see. As he will no doubt claim it is " womens work " , I refer back to my suggestion in the last paragraph.
i wonder how these women get on here in west australia when they obtain there drivers licence as its law to have your photo on it when issued..i even had to remove my cap before they would place a photo on mine!!!
Hmm, how long before some "enterprising" person decides a Burka is the ideal cover...whole face covered, shotgun under the loose fitting cloth...easy to just stand in line until you're right up at the teller..
Comfortably numb...
And NO, Google is NOT my friend...
now im not religious by any means but what would happen if i was to go in with one wrapped around my face?
I'll tell you why the bloke with the helmet was told to remove it, while the gals who were muslim got in.
Removal of helmets in banks, servo's etc has been a "rule" for over twenty years. All staff trainers are trained to tell staff to act as the people in this bank did, to ask customers with helmets to remove them.
People who cover their faces in the rules of their religion can enter banks, servo's , supermarkets etc because no-one wants to be the first to ban them because of the "uproar". Also, the trainers of the staff have no directive as yet as to tell staff what to do should a customer come in covered from head to toe.
Funny thing is, speaking from experience, everyone likes serving the muslims, asians, immigrants etc because they seem the happiest. Usually without question, it's allways the white "aussie" males that cause all the problems at these places. Because everyone gets treated differently from them.
I await my head kicking.
I wonder how long before there is a spate of armed hold ups by people wearing the full blown burka. Should only take a couple of good heists to polarise the community.
Of course this can only lead to one thing.... halal banks.
I know for a fact that banks do not descriminate, they will steal money from any of their customers without predjudice.
well piss off back to your own country then!
A person wearing a helmet got asked to take it off in a bank, while a person covered up in clothes according to their religion didn't. Maybe they watched? And then laughed? And pissed themselves? And slagged off everything aussie? Don't think so. So what is exactlly your point?
I hate banks.
I hate banks because they produce nothing, yet make obscene profits.
The more that get robbed the better.
I would rather see banks get robbed than service stations or supermarkets.
Any shop ( which a bank is) that tells anyone what to wear to give them business can piss off.
Ha Ha not so simple, they have share holders to keep happy.
Robbing banks would just lead to lower interest on savings, and higher on loans. They always win at the customers expense.
In any enviroment where security is important, heads should be uncovered.
For multi national companies? About 30% of the worlds population, over a billion customers in Asia alone. Imagine running the request to a bank's CEO.Originally Posted by zzzzz

Guy: umm..we think we should make them take them off.
CEO: what, the muslim women?
Guy: yeah.
CEO: make all muslim women remove their burkas if they want to enter our bank?
Guy: yeah, for security reasons. They could be impersonated by criminals carrying shotguns under their cloaky things.
CEO: You want us to piss off 30% of the world's population and make ourselves a target for every anti-western/capitalist extremist wackjob out there, to be fair to motorcyclists and to improve security?
Guy: we'd be the first bank to do it.
CEO: attack visa protection eagle!
@Bucket...well said, and a business case to be muslim tolerant globally.
after all they gots the oils.
So many people are too worried about offending people, I don't see the problem.
You have to remove ANYTHING that blocks you identity when entering the bank, if that offends some people then piss off then don't go in a bank.
I used to wear my helmet into all service stations when paying for fuel, for years I did not get asked once to remove it. I think the fact that I had my wallet out and money showing might of gave them the impression I was going to pay them...
If they had of asked me to remove it I would've.
This place sounds like a white supremacy forum sometimes. I think strict religious tradition is pretty silly, but honestly, it sounds like someone just wants to have a whinge and be in the spotlight for a few minutes. There's a damn good reason helmets have to be removed - anyone who needs that explained hasn't got much in theirs.
If you think a burqa-clad terrorist is going to storm into your local branch with bombs blazing, lay off the George Bush pills. You're ****ing paranoid.
