Default 2 receivers, does it work?

I have 1 dish with 2 LNBS both connected to 1 receiver via 1 cable, can I add a second receiver and watch 2 different channels at the same time, just by adding a 2way splitter to the one cable that is connected to my receiver, or do I have to replace my LNBS with new LNBS that have 2 connections on them?

Talking Two LNBs, Two Satellites, up to four receivers.

    G'Day Cobber,
No, that is an all pass splitter, not a multiswitch. It is all power pass and you cannot hook two STBs to one LNB with that.
What you say is a little ambiguous. Do you have a separate cable from each LNB to each receiver?
I have 1 dish with 2 LNBS both connected to 1 receiver via 1 cable, can I add a second receiver and watch 2 different channels at the same time, just by adding a 2way splitter to the one cable that is connected to my receiver, or do I have to replace my LNBS with new LNBS that have 2 connections on them?
If say one is on Aurora, where all channels are Vertical, just use the IF out connection to the second receiver.
The same would go if you are on Select TV and the FTA where they are Horizontal.
This would not apply if the Satellite you are on has a mixture of H & V.

Here is my set up cobber.

2 Lnbs one for Mysat and the other for Oman, Abou dhabi, both connected to 1 cable that runs to my machine, That's all I can tell you.
What do I need to run another machine to watch 2 different cannels at the same time?

    G'Day Cobber,
Well I'd say that is a DiSEqC Switch, controlled by the STB to switch between the two LNBs.
If you have both receivers together or apart, you could just run a separate cable to each and do away with the switch. That would give you independent control of each Satellite (LNB).
But if you want to have each STB able to tune both Satellites, then it gets a little more complicated.
Let me know exactly what you want to do?

If you would like to use 2 sat receivers independantly of each other with both sats you will need to get 2 dual output LNB's and 2 diseqc switches either 2 or 4 way.

    Sorry Leroy,
    All that is unnecessary. Why:-
Mysat on PAS 8 is all Horizontal. Subscriber card needed.
Oman TV on D2 is all Vertical.
So no dual output LNBs needed.
So unless he gets a second subscriber card for MySat, there is no point in doing other than run a separate Co-Ax to each STB with the existing LNBs.
Otherwise still use the existing LNBs with your favorite Spawn SMS 281F with Oman(D2) to the V input and MySat(PAS 8) to the H input.
The 22 KHz needs to be OFF.
He could then hook up to eight STBs if he has enough cards.

Without looking into what TP is what, the solution I offered above has no incumbencies. With the price of dual lnb's etc these days it's the way I'd personally go but YMMV.
