Did someone nearby do some yellow spray painting?

Go to panel shop and ask if they have something to remove it without leaving swirl marks.

What i did on a new white car i owned years ago was to wash it by hand using a good car paint detergent and give it a bit of a rub with the wet sponge after all the dirt was off.

Any lumps that the wash and sponge didnt remove id fingernail off gently while my hand was covered in the car wash liquid from the bucket and then sponge once again. Its normally soft (including your nails if yourve been washing) when using your nail so you shouldnt scratch the paint.

Any yellow residue type stain left behind can then be polished out carefully.
Difficult stains may require a swirl remover type cleaner, but best to avoid this and work longer with a standard polish.

I dont like tar remover and swirl removers as i feel they cut and remove wax too much.

    Go gently and slowly.

I cant see why not, its worth a try.

    It wont harm your paint.

Make sure you use a soft cloth that wont scratch.
Make sure you wash/wet the panel first, ANY dust /dirt will scratch while rubbing.
