whats your router?
only 54mbps?
Hi all, I have a D-Link 108G wireless network card in my sons computer and it is meant to be able to receive information at 108mbps but I can only get 54mbps. This is the same with my daughters Toshiba laptop. Can anyone tell me why and how can I fix it. The model of the card is DWA-520.

Router is a 2wire model 2701HGV-W
I think I may have answered my own question, it appears it will only handle 54mbps
54mbps is plenty though as long as your not transferring large files accross the network.
it will make little or no difference with residential internet speed imo
Thanks for your help and info. I thought I may have a crap modem (probably is anyway) thats all.
