    Loader Reader type 5 on node /dev/sci1
    Sci Closing device /dev/sci1 [Handle=-1]
    Sci Could not open device /dev/sci1 [might be in use by another process?

    And this keeps repeating itself.

    CCcam will start to output with details on how it is running and hopefully any problems it is having.
    This is what i get:

    login from 192.168.1.8
    newcamd server 192.168.1.8:12000 user: user1
    newcamd receive error -1
    kick 192.168.1.8, signature failed

    What do you suggest?

    Looks like cccam is using the card reader and newcs is failing to open it. Disable the card reader in the relevant section in cccam.cfg

    ok i seem to have managed to get somewhere but still no pics.

    I now get for the cardinfo:

    Keyman Adding key.....
    Loader Card 096c.....
    Loader Starting Newcamd.....
    Newcamd Newcamd thread server started on port 10000
    Newcamd[10000] bad read....

    Then it shows me the entitlements for card 0 and shows my cccam client logged in.

    Where to now?

    Another question. I have the boxkey in the newcs.xml file should i also have it in the cccam.cfg file?

    I have tried both with and without and it made no difference but this could be because of a number of problems and i just want to narrow down the causes.

    Remember i am using a orange card.

    thanks.

    i logged in and it just came up with the newcs menu basically waiting for me to type in whatever commands i wanted.

    I did a few but nothing really made any sence.

    What particular command should i check ie stats, user etc

    thanks.

    When you log into newcs change logging to spam / all. I think the command is loglevel.. help will tell you.

    [edit]typing in a rush. about to go out.

    1. set up newcs only (no client) as the card server and get it working 100%. You can run the command from /var/bin ./newcs -nd and you will see the data on your telnet screen (depending on the debug levels you have set in newcs.xml)

    2. Once newcs is set up and you have it working, and only then, setup up your CCcam client on the DM500. All you need in your /var/etc/CCcam.cfg is the N: line - i.e.;
    N: 127.0.0.1 15000 user1 passwd 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

    You should now be seeing TV.

    If not use, port 16001 on your DM500 to check what CCcam is doing - i.e. Is CCcam connected to your newcs server? If not why not? Did you set up the users in newcs.xml. Did you enter the correct user data from newcs.xml in your /var/etc/CCcam.cfg

    etc etc ... If it works put the second user you set in newcs (newcs.xml) into openshare and watch TV

    and u need to use a soft cam either mgcand
    with config

    CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
    CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
    CWS = 127.0.0.1 1000 user pass 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 lan newcs

    or cccam

    config

    N: 127.0.0.1 1000 user pass 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

    or just use cccam with this config only with box key

    BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 00 11 22 33

    all this in the fron slot of a dm500s

    thanks d4g for your help i will try this later tonight.

    I was just getting newcs to work before i connect cccam as a client. Should i still be able to get pics with no softcam and only newcs in the cardserver?

    I can get pics just with cccam no problems. But i need to run a newcamd server for a different client.

    thanks.

    You always need a softcam to get picture.

    You have established CCcam is getting an error when it tries to get a key. You need to check what the problem is with NewCS.

    Either killall newcs like you did with cccam and then run newcs with -nd option

    or telnet into NewCS (check <debug><tcp_port> value in newcs xml) and type "level spam"

    Double check your box key. Not having worked with a boxkey I am unsure what error newcs will generate when it is wrong (if any) but I believe the card will work as normal except for giving the all important ecm's cccam needs to decode the picture.

    You should remove the irdeto lines as you are using a NDS card;

    <irdeto-camkey>0000000000000000</irdeto-camkey>
    <irdeto-camkey-data>000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000</irdeto-camkey-data>

    You will know it is working when the openbox get pictures. When that happens add the 1 line of code only (with your details into it) in to your /var/etc/CCcam.cfg as per the example I gave above.

    at this point in time i am not worrying about the openbox. I just want to get pics while using newcs.

    I need to clear something up. It has been suggested to get news working before i worry about cccam connecting as a client.

    I can get pics when just using cccam but when i use newcs i cant.

    My setup in the softcam menu (pli jade image):

    softcam = none
    cardserver = newcs

    is this correct or do i still need something in the softcam?

    I thought in the newcs.xml file i direct it to use the card reader and input my boxkey so it should not matter if i have nothing in the softcam option.

    I cant keep staying up in the wee hours of the morning trying to get this to work but it is just so frustrating.

    thanks for all those who have tried to help hopefully i get it to work soon.
