connect a newcamd client to cccam server?

yes you do as newcs wont work on its own...

try settings i posted up and installl cccam with nthe n line...

Newcs is only a card server and needs a softcam to get pic.

CCcam can work as a cam and card server.

As per my post #38 you need to look at the NewCS logs. I also think a incorrect box key in Newcs.xml might be the issue.

If i use cccam in the softcam and then use the N: line to connect to newcs do i need to put in my boxkey in cccam as well or only in newcs. I know my boxkey works as i get pics when using only cccam with the same boxkey.

Well good news i now have pics running newcs and connecting to it via cccam as a client.

Thanks to all those who have helped.

Now to get it to work with an openbox connected as a client.

Ill keep you all posted as to how i go.

no i did not need the boxkey in cccam.

I think the main problem was originally when i was trying to get it to work i did not notice that the boxkey in newcs was actually commented out and so of course i would never get pics.

I then was trying so many different things to get it to work including having no softcam that even when i realised the boxkey was commented out and fixed it i had introduced so many other problems it was never going to work.

So after a couple days break i went back to original file and started from scratch doing those things that i new needed to be done. Then wammo i got pics.

Now i need to get he openbox to work but first i cant seem to get the com port to work. Im using a usb to serial cable on a laptop running vista. I have used this cable before on a dragon interface so i know it works. Not sure what the problem is.

I cant connect to my openbox. I can get the openboxshare software to connect to my server but i cant test if the openbox will work as i cant get a connection to the box. I am using a usb to serial cable and no matter what i do i get a communication error so i gave up and have bought a second dm500 box.
