if you have the full model number like DX302??*!! - then I can look up the wiring diagram for you!
Hi All,
This has just occurred literally 10 mins ago, Electrolux Dishlex dishwasher model DX 302. Push the power button in nothing happens. Push and hold the power button in and the unit springs to life. I have put racing tape over the button to hold it in because its chock a block and we need to wash tonight.
So is the problem the power button/switch itself not staying in when pushed or is it some sort of remote solenoid/switch which will not remain closed when pressed???
TIA

Hi Omega99, Thank you very much , but no longer necessary.
For the record it was a DX302SJ.
I took a stab at it and found the main power switch available on Ebay for $29 or from an appliance spare parts outlet for $15.50. Just in case anyone strikes this you only need to remove the top 9 screws which secure the top outer fascia. Once the screws are out gently pivot the whole fascia from the top going down. There are numerous cables and a door latch, the only tricky bit is the door latch just unscrew that part and it all falls out.
Now you have access to the control module and the power switch itself, which judging by the colour of switch and cable connectors, was FRIED. So simply remove the two cables and pull the old switch out. When you buy the new switch it also comes with a new supporting bracket, but as my bracket was OK I just pushed the new switch in, then reconnected the cables and then reverse assembled the fascia.
Here is a tip if using a cordless drill to screw the srews in make sure your clutch is set pretty low or else you will strip a screw or two
Put the power on and test the switch...... guess what it works, so the missus is very happy and I got out of it for Cheap.
As I have done more research on this dishwasher apparently this is a very common fault as is the heating element.

thanks sam, your a champ and its exactly what i was after, seeing that the heater is in series with the level switch tells me exactly why i cannot see the 20ohms in the heater cct without water in the washer without pulling the dishwasher out and tracing the wiring.
Genuine one.
just for the record, the problem with my dishwasher was an intermittent fault on the tacho mounted on the NDE of the pump motor, the elads that go into the coil are superfine and terminated via a couple of barbs inserted into the epoxy body,
once the computer sees the tacho signal fail it disables the heater as it doesnt have any way of knowing that the pump is pushing water through the system and in turn across the element.
replaced and all good,
the manual has the fault codes and shows which key combos to press to read them out,
Hi, Just wondering if anyone still has a copy of the wiring diagram or workshop manual?
The heater in my dx302 has stopped working and I have already resoldered the pcb but no luck.
Cheers
I do. Will take a little bit to dig up.

Use the Filebox at the top of this page located between Support Austech and Mailing Lists.
It leads to depositfiles and is very easy to use.
Post the full model number with the *00 etc
