Downloaded from MiniNova this version of Vista SP1,
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Build 6001.17128, RC Refresh 434.45 MB.

    Is this the latest version?

Installation took 23 mins to complete.

    All seems fine.

Might download and install Internet Explorer 8 next.

    Cheers

The "RC" on the end is for Release Candidate

Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate to the public. Windows Vista users can download the package and preview the software now. But remember it is a release candidate and not the final version.

It is important to note that this pre-release software is provided for testing purposes only. Windows Vista SP1 Release Candidate is time-limited software and will no longer operate after June 30, 2008 and should be uninstalled prior to that date. Moreover, when the final version of Windows Vista SP1 is released in first quarter of 2008, you will need to uninstall this pre-release code

have you got a link for IE8 ?

    Hi DND,

Downloaded IE 8 from Microsoft downloads.

Have installed IE 8, found some problems with sites not displaying correctly and IE 8 stops working when trying to use Google maps.

Did system restore to a point proir to installing IE 8.

    cheers

I had the same problem looking at minrosoft update website....just use the emulate IE7 and it works. Typical Microsoft....release a new version and it doesnt work with their site.
