Because I am a masochist with adverts I see on TV, I rang a 'NEW' to me company called CountryBroadband that is advertising a wireless broadband service and sort of touting all you need is a 'Yagi' to be able to connect to the service.
I tried their website, read whats what and then tried their coverage maps and thats where the wheel fell off the Barrow.
'Enter Number, street name, location etc'
'No such etc etc, Try Again'
Ok, so I rang the number given and spoke to a chap in Sydney and explained my situation and he then attempted to find me but to no avail.
This company are an on-seller of Optus but I think they have the same maps as Telstra as the Help Centre couldnt determine the coverage area as the maps are too vague.
So, unless I can find someone with an Optus Mobile phone on that same service, of do a 'Try and Return if it dont work' basis, its back to square one.
No Telephone B/B available here so I went to the Satelitte Internet some 18 months ago which is ok but I like to see what's available every now and again.

I have to say this is the first real company who do clearly offer a service using an external antenna, where those I have asked about improving reception, look rather blank about connecting an external antenna to a USB type Modem.
Its a shame they seem to have fallen down badly by not having a better idea of where they can cover.

One thing I must say how much it annoys me that I had to contact someone over 300 kms away to find out what is available in my area when it should be at the local dealers.
