hey guys
any guides on setting up a c-band with a actuator?
cheers
Nice one Keepleft
The poor old plastic mount'd be groaning a bit under the combined weight of 4 lnb's, but once set up they seem to hold 'tune' no problems.
You've got to think about how you mount them, to ensure they all fit snug together ... a pic would be nice.
I'd better retrofit my C1/IS8 85cm

cheers
His pictures in this FS ad describe it well...
I have an Austar decoder which I need to point at Optus C1.
The dish is set up for select-TV. I've fiddled with the dish for hours but the only satellite I can find is Intelsat 8. I've visited but that didn't work either.
Any suggestions?
A good suggestion would be for you to do a forum search where users have asked, been educated, and successfully moved a dish from OPTUS C1 around to PanAmSat 8....and do the reverse. You will need to move the dish toward the North and up a bit.
Have you changed the skew?
Looking into the dish, initially rotate the lnb approx 10min clockwise. Peak the skew once you're on C1.
your approx location is also handy for dish movements.
Salisbury Heights (Adelaide) is where we are
Here is the Clarke belt from Adelaide. I love Gorbtrack
Mark the dish aligned for IS8. From the attached chart, work out how many degrees up and how many to the West.
If you use a school protractor it will be accurate enough.
Adjust the skew for C1 vs IS8 as advised.
hey farmsky
what proggie are u using to generate those clarkebelt pictures again?
cheers
Urban is this what you want
Here is the Clarke belt from Adelaide. I love Gorbtrack
I have downloaded Gorbtrack & the Australia map files.
BUT when i go to set my details & look @ the Clarke Belt it gives me an error message "List index out of bounds (-1)
Farmsky.. I assume it runs no worries on XP ??
I'm reading what I can but assume its as simple as a tick in a box somewhere
Its also an old map so doesnt have my suburb in it.. So i just insert my : Latitude: -31.857° Longitude: 116.046° but still errors for me..
Does the small map on the location page indicate the sun and your location correctly?
Farmsky..
Yes it now shows my Loc & Sun pos OK..
just have to figure out how to get rid of all the sats i dont want on my maps..
great program it is..
Use the 'viewing icons' on the 'sat info' page or edit the data 'sat list' tab ... typically the 'C' & 'Ku' info.
hey guys
can you please post up a guide to fixing up the lnb on the 2.4m c-band dish?
i dont have the instructions and ive been trying for ages. I just cant get working .
Ive got the dish assembled, but i dont know how to connect arms connecting the lnb and the actually lnb?
thanks guys
You'll need to 'Ku' D2, but first make it 'visible', by ensuring you are viewing all sats on the 'sat info' page
