Default ADSL router/modem , with bandwidth software ?

    hullo all

Had a brief discussion RE: monitoring a LAN in the old forum , gone now so if anyone recalls or knows ?!?

I am after a router/modem that has inbuilt bandwidth monitoring/limiting...per IP or MAC address. I forget the name of it as it was mentioned in my other thread a few months ago.

    Any ideas ? Thanks ben

Qos - I use it to limit my next door neighbour .. I give him max of 11% of my 1500/256 as he wanted it .. so he paid less .. only thing its by IP not MAC address whichs sux all has to do is change his IP and gets full speed

    Thanks for the reply

While i understand the acronym and its workings , nothing i can find refers to a actual modem/router that does this
Do you speak of software installed on a router or ?

    Any thoughts thanks ben

i have a DLINK . . . .erm something. Fairly new and wireless etc.

Wouldnt the QoS be an option in the setup ? IE have flags to click etc ?

anyone have any suggestions for a decent modem/router with wireless and QoS ?
