have you tried it without bridging them ?
Here is my setup:
1 Laptop connected wirelessly
1 Dlink DIR-655 wireless N router
1 TP-Link TD-8810 modem router
So, the issues that im having are as following:
Setting the TPLink to Bridged mode, and putting the internet setting into the Dlink causes the internet to drop out and the DLINK to reset every 10 mins or so.
Setting the TPLink to PPPoE mode stops the laptop from resolving addresses, hence no website surfing but with torrents, Windows Update etc working.
Ive tried hard coding the Primary and Secondary DNS into the DLINK and the Network adapter on the PC with no luck resolving.
If i connect the TPLink directly to the PC and hard code the Network adaptor, i can get internet no probs.
Seems to me to be a resolving issue in the DLink....
Any ideas?

Some way there:
Have tried turning the TPLink to DHCP and the DLink to DHCP while hard coding the DNS into both and the adaptor and now have internet on the PC!!!!
Now the problem exists of uTorrent now has porting issues.
PC ip = 192.168.2.199 (so DLink is mapped here using Port Mapping)
Dlink inbound WAN IP = 192.168.1.2 (so TPLink is mapped here using the Virtual Server)
Im trying to route port XXXXX through this to reach the internet....
Is this correct or am i going nutty.... (im assuming nutty)
Thanks again
just run them unbridged ... assign IP /dns (192.168.1.1) for laptop and PC ..turn off DHCP servers off on both //modem and router ... modem set as 192.168.1.1 and set router as 192.168.1.101 ...all work fine then

As others have said your setup will work OK without bridging, & you should be able to get it to work by manually setting IP address for each device but you will also need to set the a DNS server entry on each device as well otherwise you wont be able to resolve names.
On the other hand as long as you have the Dlink's WAN port connect to an ether port on the TPlink modem & you have both units set with DHCP turned on then this should work No Problem.
The DHCP setting within each device will pass on the IP address & DNS & IP Route to each client that asks by way of DHCP. So your Dlink will go get the IP setting from the TPlink modem when it powers up & your laptop will get it's IP setting from the Dlink when you connect to it's wireless SSID.
But if you think it's a DNS issue ( name Resolving ) then why dont you manually put a DNS server address in your wireless adapter's IP settings.
You could try the TPG one of 203 12 160.35 this seems to work from within most ISP's & see if it gets things working.
hope this helps.
