    Default DM7020's with same mac's

I can't get one box to change it's mac. I create an init file with

ifconfig eth0 down; ifconfig eth0 hw ether 0023:44:97:E5; ifconfig eth0 up

in \var\etc and reboot the box. I telnet back to the box and ifconfig and the mac hasn't changed! Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong pls?

    Thanks,
    Leroy

Try putting the file in /etc/init.d instead of /var/etc
