Sounds like the Hummer owners ego has been damaged too.

We might start seeing Corrollas being used as the Iraqi terrorist weapon of choice.

yet if the hummer hit the corolla at the same speed and angle it probably would have crushed the corola and kept on hummin.

flipped on to its side when it allegedly failed to give way was that because the wanker driving it, was on his phone whilst looking at himself in his rearview mirror and playing with his little pee pee!

I just loved the Police comment that its a well known 'Nortorious' spot and they have had a 'FEW' fatals.

Do they have to achieve a Quota before they look to preventing any more?.

Its obvious from the pics that the Hummer's left front wheel, being of a bigger diameter, ran up the front of the Corola like a ramp, and flipped.
Smaller wheels and they might have managed to add another 'Fatal' to the list.

I would love to see the result, pretty sure forby's come of second best in most accidents.Different design rules as I understand.
There was a crash test comparrison done by one of the motoring mobs - RACV,RACQ or such.
You may be supprised just how easy a 4wd will bend compared to a standard passenger vehicle.

Something like a hummer does not bend so easily.

Im pretty sure if it hit an unmovable object the occupants would be pretty well screwed with little to no crumple zone, all the force going through their bodies.

Its only saving grace is hitting another car which would end up going all the crumpling for it.

Hate to be sitting in the car on the receiving end.

That particular model of Hummer is just a Chevy Tahoe with a Hummer body. The military version is a far heavier and more industrial device.

Spot on - its a Hummer H3 - smaller and lighter than a Pajero fer gods sake! The nearest the military get to these is as they drive past a dealership in their HWMMV's (otherwise known as H1's) and laugh at them. The H1 is much wider, heavier and has a much lower CoG than the H3. It most likely would not have been the same result if a real hummer had been hit.
