I use an Open 824RLW.
2 port VoIP with lifeline, 54Mbps Wireless G, 4 port ethernet.
Works very well for an all-in-one unit
I am curious as to what brands/models people are using and their opinions of them. When I originally got ADSL , I bought a Netgear DG834g which was fantastic , I gave it to a mate and it is still in use to this day after about 6 years of 24/7 use.
Based on that , I got a newer Netgear 834 with built in voip ( cant remember the model number ) which promptly crapped itself. As did the next. And the one after it. It was a very disappointing experience based on the original one.
I am now using a Dynalink RTA-1025 which hasnt missed a beat , however it doesnt have a built in voip port and I have to run a separate ATA. I have a lot of stuff plugged in and would prefer to buy a good modem with 4 ports and at least one voip port and wireless.
Any comments or recommendations ?

I believe they are a rebadged Billion from what I have been reading ?
Dynalink RTA-1025 using one of these because i was told it was better than the my old unit.
Works flawlessly im about 4.5KM from the exchange as well.
Dynalink do have a VOIP model but i think the distributor of dynalink have pulled the modems.
I tend to find one brand and stick with it for as long as i can, especially when dealing with clients makes it easier to provide support if i use the modems myself.
From my experience i would stay away from dlink/netgear as these have just caused me headache after headache.
Billion do some really nice VOIP / ADSL modems, but hell ill take a trixbox any day

I dont have any isse with the current Dynalink , its just a bit light on for features.
For example , I use Mac Filtering which it allows. But it doesnt allow a name next to the Mac addresses so you dont know who owns what mac address which can be mighty annoying when you add or remove them.
It's funny how a particular branded product that causes grief for some are great for others.
I've found the opposite with DLink products and found they just work. I've set up a few ADSL modems, AP's etc and had no probs. I do know of one ADSL modem that failed after almost 2 years. I said to call up DLink and it was still under warranty and replaced no questions asked. I've had no experience with VOIP products.

I use a D-Link DSL-604T (Generation II), ADSL2+ modem/router.
It continues to work flawlessly and does all that I require of it.
I also use a separate Sipura/Linksys/Cisco SPA-2000 analogue telephone adaptor (ATA) and D-Link DES-1005D Fast Ethernet Switch.
I find D-Link equipment to be very reliable and easy to set up, having used this brand for many years now, with complete satisfaction.
Billion 7401-VGPM.
Not for the novice, but once set up correctly, they run perfectly.
I have set them up for several of my friends, and they are all happy with them.

d-link....G604T
no problems
Billion 7402GL. All my ADSL modems have been Billions. Except the first one Netcomm NB1300Plus4 it was pretty crap.
Billion 7500G .. been working great for the last few years. Every now and then I need to reboot it, but otherwise reliable
D-Link DSL-504T
no problems
Had a Dlink ADSL wireless modem cannot remember model it was a pain as it would go deaf and wouldn't allow anyone to connect via wireless the wired network part would be okay but I had to turn it off / on to get the wireless to work again. It eventually died.
I replaced it with a Netcomm NB5Plus4W its pretty average but far better than the dlink.
Its main fault is if you navigate around too quickly in its settings menu it will spit the dummy and lock up and it will need to be powered off then on again to get it working.
If I leave it alone it works okay.
Netgear D834G
first modem was D-link DSL-302G, wasnpt too bad.. then moved onto a Netcom NB5, also wasn't too bad cept for getting little hot... next was Linksys AM300 bloody good peice of kit...
now I'm onto a all in one Billion Pipac 7404VNPX what a smashing unit.....

Billion 7404vgpx reliable and has all the bells and whistles.
Cisco 877 (with 4 eth ports), Apple Airport Extreme (4 Gb eth ports) and SPA941.
One other thing is I have a big house so whatever I buy has to have a fairly good wireless range.
I think Billion or rebadged Open is looking to be my preferred option , but I would be interested if anyone has any complaints about its wireless capabilities.
Thanks for all the replies , excellent.
I have a Belkin with VOIP x 2 and LAN x 4, very reliable and never missed a beat.
