Default Iron Maiden Flight 666 (2009) [Doco]

Sorry, had this on hdd for months. (actually thought I posted it already) watched it again. thought I'd mention it.

The documentary is done by the canadian guy who did "history of thrash" and various other metal based doco's (during these he mentions that Maiden is one of his all time favourite bands) so was good to see him get to document it.

Really enjoyed it actually, comes as a two cd set, cd 1 is the doco, cd 2 is the tour.

edit: covers 2009 world tour. Umm i did not know Bruce (lead singer) was a pilot, and flew the band around the world for this tour. impressive. shows Perth/Melbourne/Sydney fans, (bloody yobbo's) ;P

I'd like to have seen less music and more questions behind the scenes, like in history of thrash, I am not sure why he did not have more presence in this one, make no mistake he does do brief interviews but not like his previous efforts

Great to see these guys going strong. and will bring back memories if you liked them "back in the day".

They used to seem somewhat scarier than they appear in the doco..

If you dont scream "666 The number of the beast" when it comes on, something is wrong with you! if this style of music is not your cup of tea, wide berth it, as you'll get nothing from it.

Imdb Info (seems to have rated high)

He actually has/had a show on one of the Discovery channels "Flying Heavy Metal" I think it was called. Tests out a bunch of planes etc..
He is also apparently a commercial pilot in the employ of one of the UK carriers..

As to them being scarier in real life than the doco..the Discovery series sort of spoiled the memories for me..
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

Yep, Sam Dunn. He directed the excellent Metal: A Headbanger's Journey and the follow up

I'm generally not a fan of metal but I'm interested in it from a pop culture POV. Hence I love the likes of Headbanger's Journey, Global Metal and Some Kind Of Monster.
