    Default Your Electricity Bill

I just received my electricity bill from Tru energy and think it is very high for two people living in the house hold.
Total bill or 3months is $400 and is for 2050 kwh billed @ 0.1678
When i was living with my folks we had 6 people in the household with a plasma and a couple of LCD tvs and the most we would see the bill at any one time would be about $300.

Just wondering what kind of bills you guys get and what your running. And the company you are with.

During winter $540, that is with a heat pump, heat pump hot water, plasma, 7 computers, 4 showers a day a clothes wash every day. Not forgetting cooking.

I can probably knock a hundred off during summer.

Just over $1200 for the winter quarter, but that's with 3 kids and a large heat pump in Hobart.

When I can get a bill from AGL, they range from 450 to 750 a quarter with 2 kids, 2 adults. AGL like to not send out a bill, but then you get a couple. Pricks they are.

Just paid one yesterday, $441.09. Two person household. ETU mates rates 5% discount helps a wee bit. I'm sure we could cut down but we have energy saver globes etc. and try to turn lights out in rooms when we walk out.
But computers & TV's & sound systems all take a whack of eleccy to run.
    Thanks Mr. taxman.

    Normal household, 2 adults only,however
Use bore pump for all water, so every time a tap is on, pump goes on, and bore filter in use to clean it as well.
Swimming pool pump on 4 hrs per day
We pay a higher rate than town or semi rural, as we are classed country, paying 19.620 per kWh unit

There is no competition in WA. This means you have no choice who to get power through.

Rates did not increase for 10 years (!) until last month. My bill all last year was about 40-50$ per month.

I have since got a big screen tv and STB and mine is up to about 70 per month now.

When they went up recently, they went up 25% in one go. Still cheaper than other states..

$220 to $240 a quarter with discounts. A little high at this time of the year due to the ducted heaters fan constantly turning on.

Thats running 2 plasmas and a crt tv, gas ducted heating, surround, one pc used as a DVR for cameras 24/7, 3 pcs, oven and fridge.

Most of our lighting is compact fluro.

I cannot believe some of the bills here, better check how long you leave your appliances on for, check the meter readings and rate you are paying.

    Start pulling plugs quick.
