    Default Optus Fusion

Thinking about changing to the Optus Fusion $99 a month plan. You get unlimited local, national & GSM mobile calls + 20gb DL + line rental + WiFi modem. Reckon that'll save me about $130 a month with current telephone & ISP, my current plan is only 10gb DL so should be more than enough DL. Anyone got any opinions/experience on Optus as a phone & internet provider?

    as a provider no problems
    service is stable and reliable.

have a look at TPG + a cheap VOIP provider as a alternative.

A few months back i felt optus plans were not competitive enough, they gave us grief when we wanted to cancel one of our services which was off contract.

Transfer 4 mobile phones over to three
transfer landline to telstra homeline basic
    engin voip
    tpg 70GB plan

Probably comes to about the same as the optus offering buy you get more download.

I refuse to do direct debit so that cans the VOIP..

I'm on the 129 fusion plan.. 30gb, then shaped to 256 which is still pretty good.

Unlimited local, std within oz and calls to any mobile on any network completely unlimited.

    I quite like the service.

The problem with optus plans is that they now count uploads + donwloads to make up your cap so it's not really 20gb download that you get.

I'm sure you're right.. I just cbfed dealing with 4 bills, some of which will be direct debit.

Also once you leave Perth, coverage for the whole of WA is absolutely crap unless you have a telstra mobile. Sad, but true.

I would recommend a lot of reading at Whirlpool before signing up to this plan as there appears to be a lot of issues with it.

    Default Optus Fusion

After dying of shock from my last Telstra bill which has the $69 = 30 gb plan plus land line plus 1 mobile $49 plan Total $430.00 and nearly killing one of my love lorn teenage boys, i was contemplating an Optus $129 Fusion plan including free talk. I have optus cable running past the front door and am running lan and wan
My concern is that if i change will i have problems with my DM's. Am currently with Net phone and have pulled the Telstra plug from 3 satellite phones and have only 1 Telstra fixed phone.
Question does the Telstra Motorola SURFboard work with Optus and i can retain my Billion BiPac 6404vgp by adjusting the the settings thereby not using their shit modem, allowing me to dump Telstra and Mynetfone, will using Optus cause some one at another location grief by not receiving his allocation
I know i am not alone on this one and would appreciate any advice as to how to TRY and keep costs to a miniumun

being on the 99$ Fusion plan for nearly 2 years now, good and stable service, the only catch is that they charge 15c for each extra MB so 1 GB= 150$( that Hurts).
see if you can get that changed to shape your speed rather than charging the user for extra$.
    Cheers

With optus Broadband you can not get a fixed (static) IP address & I think their upload speed is around 256k?. I think this why the comment on not being able to use it for Server access.

This does'nt have any effect on accessing the DM from the local network within the house, it would only effects remote accessing the DM from the internet, But there are ways around the dynamic IP address problem but not the upload speed.
But having said the above you shouldnt have any problem sharing your DM on the Optus network.
