this is the board that works well and there is also a cct if you are handy with a soldering iron.

Best4less / Weirdo: Would eithier of you be willing to lend me your jtag connector? PM if your're interested, maybe we can work something out
did you earth all the earth pins.made that mistake once .by memory there is around 4 or 5 pins.
i had to earth all one side if i remember correctly once or it wouldnt work.
Still no luck fellas
Here is a new pic of my new setup:
...and the wiring diagram I'm using to connect the pins to the jtagger.
Note the changes:
- different jtag interface (a member lent me one that has worked for him previously - thanks weirdo )
- no ide cable/shorter cable length from the board to the interface
- 3.3v power piggybacked off the orange wire
It's still wired according to the diagrams in my first post plus the 3.3v wire. I'm still getting the 'unknown device' error.
I'm starting to think that maybe my pinouts to the jtag interface may be incorrect as everything else i have followed to the tee. The picture that I'm going by is a bit unclear and my jtag interface has no markings on it, just pins. If somebody could post the proper pinouts, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
keegs

Have you tried a different jkeys

You sure the cable between the PC and jtag unit is right ? 25 way straight through ??
1:double check the connections
2:as i mentioned before solder a leg from a resistor or alike across the entire ground row
and i know that particular unit works perfectly
the cable dosnt look right either , it should be a 25pin m at one end 25f at the other end and plugs into the printer port on the computer (parallel port)

dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
I did use a gender-bender on one end of the cable, but I don't see how this should change anything. All connections are double and triple checked to the diagrams I currently have. Can you please post the pinouts for the jtag unit? I just want to verify that I'm doing the right thing.

1: i designed the thing
2: i built the thing
3: i tested the thing
and it will only work on the 25pin printer port (parallel port of a computer)
The one you are using was not screen printed and the pinouts are
trst - gnd(connection i use) - tms - tdi - tdo - tck - gnd - +v
and looking at the pic you have everything connected incorrectly, the person who sent it to you to try should have sent the matching
header and cables i supplied initially
ALSO NOTE I HAVE NO FIRMWARE OR KNOW WHO WHAT AND WARE I JUST DESIGNED AND BUILT SOMETHING PEOPLE NEEDED

@diavlo/jimbo - Seems that I'm going to the shops then to buy a printer cable, then soldering a leg accross all the ground points. Can you post the pinouts of the jtag unit? Thanks (Y)
Isnt is a straight through 25pin serial cable M to F. A parallel cable has a Centronix end on it at one end.
