Default Can't ping a static bigpond modem Ip.

I've setup a static ip on a adsl bigpond account and am trying to ping the ip, have tried from a couple of different sites. I have no firewalls active, tried to ping from another bigpond site and one with westnet.

Does the static ADSL actually work? You can get to the internet from there?
Are you sure ICMP is allowed on the WAN side of whatever you are using as a modem/router.

What happens when you tracert to the IP?

Yeh, hence my question on whether ICMP is allowed.
It it really has Internet connectivity, and the trace stops just before the WAN interface, then its a fair bet it is disabled.

I guess your right, here is the tracert. On the tracecert software I used it says firewall before it get to the modem. Is there away around this?

Wow, that's a real tour of Australia there.
    The last hop actually responded?
Not responding the Ping is a "first step" security feature, and can usually be switched on or off. How to do this depends on the device and should be either in the user manual or in the FAQ section of the manufacturers website.
