If you have a Tomtom with the bootloader version number 1.0100 or 1.0200 you have a special system and should never attempt to change your bootloader!
It is most likely that you have a special Navcore version as well - 8.041
Other Navcores won't work on your device the progress bar will stop at the end end the devices freezes.
The only way to use non genuine maps on these devices is by using a specially patched PNDNavigator for for the 8.041 Navcore.
Don't try to patch the ttsystem or the PNDNavigator file yourselft it won't work and the ttsystem does not need any patching.
Only the new PDA maps will work as you need at least Navcore 8.2xx for the full featured maps.

The bootloaders 1.0100 and 1.0200 are designed for devices with a "bug" in the filesystem or the GPS hardware.
Tomtom has provided this "quick" fix to be able to sell these units (most of them being ONE V8 models) without sending them back to the headquarter in Holland.
If you bought one of these units and you are still in your warranty period ,try to get a replacement unit with a normal bootloader/Navcore as it is most likely that Tomtom won't offer any updates for those devices!

I accidentally tried to update a Tomtom One v4 with bootloader version A1.0100 and all it does now is showing the progress bar until the end and it reboot and repeats this process. It doesn't make the ttgo.bif file.
I used SDformatter, disconnected the battery and shortcircuit the print poles and installed the original Navcore as well as the special Navcore for this bootloader but nothing works and I guess it needs another treatment or in worst case another Tomtom.
Is it normal that my SubID (see picture) is zero?
Has anybody an idea how I can still solve this matter?
Thanks in advance for any help and yes I've learned my lesson well...
PS: To make things worse: there is no back-up...
Your going to have to Down-Grade your TomTom Bootloader have a look at this thread,
I don't know what version your TT should have but if you have a backup of your TT your can use the one out of that to get it back to normal,
I need help, my tomtom 30 v8 with bootloader A1.0100 restart always when i switch it on.
I need a solution for this problem and a backup of one complete Navcore 8.041.
thanks
