Default Alice In Chains: Black Gives Way To Blue

well i admit i didnt really want to hear a new AIC album without Layne but damn this ones a beaut.
i dunno if they deliberately got a Layne soundalike or if Cantrell had way more vocal influence than previously thought but this is definitely an AIC album and a very good one.

Yea I heard a lot of complaints about this (and I've only had one listen), but I found it pretty damn good.
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

I'm really liking this album so far. But it just isn't the same without Layne Staley.

Have been a big AIC fan for ages. Remember seeing them in 93 for the Dirt tour at Waves in Wollongong (with Suicidal Tendencies- Yeah!). First listen, I thought it was a bit droney and well, same same. Am on the second listen ATM and I'm prepared to give it a real try. The new singer seems pretty good- although like most posts Layne is a real loss. I mean check out the 'Would?' video. Awesome.

Or even better a live performance of Would?

the last album he did with em was a piece of crap, Dirt was the only really great one and hell the idiot killed himself anyway so i dont see why the rest of the band should suffer and get this album neglected when its a top effort.
