    mate i have always known the whole goddam lot as gammas when i first got one 3 or so years ago they were called gammas when i got one with the .gam files they were called gammas when i got bin files they were bin files for gammas they were just different version numbers and files but they have always been called gammas by me and everyone else i have dealt with
    at the end of the day a tv can be a phillips or a lg but its still a ####ing tv

    lol all this thread is doing is comfirming austar efforts if any, as far as i knew no boxes were working now or before, so i have no idea why people are carrying on.

    I've heard this song before, too.

    Irdeto CAS 3 has allegedly been released, and maybe that will hit our shores somewhere in the future. I presume this will require replacement of all subscriber cards, and likely won't happen soon.

    It’s supposed to be backwards compatible with previously
    deployed Irdeto smartcards and STB's

    A business that relies on the security of the smart card to derive its main income would be stupid not to include the cost of replacing the complete set of cards say every 3 years


    it's called a business plan............ and if this is the plan, then cost the replacement cards would be costed into every customers basic subscription every 3 years........


    and when was the last time this happened?
