Cheap GPS to Convert to TomTom?

Hi guys, I've already have a Tomtom Go730, wife seems to use it more than I do but I want to have one handy in the car, I've read somewhere of people getting cheap chinese gps that can be flashed with tomtom software and they work fine, can someone recommend some brands to watch out for? I know I could buy the TomTom one which is cheap but I thought something cheaper that can be "hacked" would be more fun for me.

Any names, ebay links will be much appreciated.

That all depends....
If you use a "hacked" system you can't use the maps with ALG ,IQ routes and so on.
Another problem might be the fact that you can't just add a favorite ,because you use a predefined mapsettings.cfg after installation.
Only option to add you extra favourites is to manually copy the changed mapsettings.cfg to a secure location and replace the old one with it.

Which device you buy does not really matter - you can even use the Tevion models from Aldi.
Some ppl like to spend a bit more money and use the 2DIN DVD player with GPS.
If you want to do more with it go for an older PDA with big memory and fast CPU.
