Mate, if you can get an OEM copy of the OS that came with your laptop (ie, vista, XP etc), just use that to install on your laptop and not have all the HP bloatware crap. Then, go to HPs website and grab any drivers you need.
If you use Vista, remember that the disk has ALL versions on it - it just depends what key you type in that determines the installed version. I.e, if you have a vista home premium OEM disk and your laptop has a home basic key, it will work fine. However, OEM disks only have 32bit OR 64bit software on em.
