It was no surprise that NG Wild would be a 4:3 channel, but for the widescreen content of TSN to be pillarboxed and letterboxed in a 16:9 transmission is just ridiculous. If Fox only had a 4:3 feed source then why not just encode the channel in 4:3 format?
Also 12287H is now no longer transmitting 5 HD channels as of today. That DVB-S transponder now only has 38.4 Mbps of null packets.
All of those 5 HD channels have now actively moved to 11721H
An NIT scan on the Foxtel bouquet now reveals these official frequencies as being used:

Silly question I guess but do the channel numbers on the STB bear any relationship to the transponder sending the signal or is it purely a software choice made by Fox/Austar as to what is shown where?
From the mail I have received from Austar today of the new lineup, Saturday night the 14th of Nov around 4am is gunna be real busy updating all the STB's for Sunday's opening.
The allocated LCN's in provider boxes have a manually programmed list that is updated with their own data stream. It's not available in the generic NIT data and is not in any way related to how they are ordered on transponders.
The provider chooses what goes where manually.
i got on to foxtel regarding some decent programming and price reductions alot of ppl are fed with watching ausmark plus all the usual crap on it. i have spoken to hallmark usa about this trash and they are not very happy on whats been showed. ,i also told foxtel this morning all yous are doing is renaming channels yous already have my god theres no such thing as showtime action channel stop paying millions in royalties each year to them and get some decent channels ,thx hamguy2

It's great that you are taking up this cause for all man kind (in Australia) where nobody otherwise would dare to tread. There needs to be more hamguys in this world to take on the big multi national corporations of this country. Don't let them get away with this blasphemous behaviour. The Yanks must churn out 100's of hours of material each week to feed their 300 Million population over the FTA,Cable and Satelitte services.
Now we have 22 Million so divide that into the hours of material available.
Now on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best.
Say we are getting programs about level 5 in quality, and their tolerable, can you just imagine how lousy those programs are on the layers 4 to 1 ??
Most likely the ones 5 to 10 may not be much better but they cost more to buy due to their current popularity in the US.
We only get them as they begin the slide down the slippery slope heading to obscurity.
